The Queen hits Youtube

Well only sort of. This is a new video published on the DDowning Street YouTube channel. It's a short film about the relationship between Prime Minister and Monarch and includes some rare footage of Blair and Her Majesty in conversation at the beginning of an audience. John Major and Ted Heath also feature in the film.

Fascinating. What always impresses me about Tony Blair is his dead eyes, so very evident in this video.

(I love it that HM carries her handbag around her own house!)

Awesome video. A guy who could have looked back at his time in office with some pride (of course measured by his standards) but for Iraq. Is that why his eyes look dead: shame at the scopeof the error in supporting such a foolhardy endevopur?

You remember them saying, on the video, that there is never a third party in on the Queen's meetings with her prime minister and everything said is in complete confidence?

You know what would be funny? If the Queen's been secretly recording everything Tony Blair has said in those meetings for the last 10 years and is writing a tell-all book. Maybe called 'The Peekaboo Tony Blair' or 'Blair Bare at The Palace'. She could go on talk shows to publicise it, and Max Hastings could be her press agent. The world's biggest opportunist out-spun. God, that would be funny. The Queen could inscribe Cherie's complimentary copy: "Now do you wish you'd curtsied?"

Also, it would sell 10m copies in Britain alone, never mind the US. Just for kicks. It may put the spoilers on Tony's book! That is what I would do if I were the Queen.
