This has to be a first surely? A foreign embassy of a foreign nation state being provided a web presence under the domain that technically denotes it as being part of the UK Government?
The domain was registered in 2003 so it's not like we're just helping them out because they keeping getting DOS attacked by the Russians (see here for details).
What I wonder is whether they're paying us for hosting costs and who paid for the bloody design. Could it be that Prince Edward secretly accepted the Crown all those years ago?
Update: Someone has pointed out the hosting is in Estonia. In my haste yesterday I didn't check that. Such is life. As the comment says though, there still remains the question of why the Estonian Embassy is presented online as part of the UK Government.

I would not have thought that we were that envious of Estonia's independence. The Russians have 'issues', fans of a Greater Finland would like to swallow it whole and it used to belong to the Ordenstaat of the Teutonic Knights.
Well it makes sense, most of them are working over here anyway. Along with the Poles, and half the population of the Slavic nations.
Did you know that Estonia has introduced ID cards and also had e-voting in their last elections? I remember being at a conference where the former PM of Estonia told us that the main problem with IT projects is how much they cost, so the secret is not to have much money. Maybe this is their creative solution.
In all fairness there's no hosting costs involved, since it points directly to an Estonian host.
The only costs are in the DNS hosting, which being a .gov.uk are negligible at best.
Nevertheless, it still begs the question why? and why Estonia?
fido: and kiwis, aussie "diggers" and them jarpies.
Mind you, we take all those boring jobs like bar tendering and banking.
