When they don't cheer lead you know it must be bad

Whenever the Government puts out a press release on statistics, you can always guarantee that the release will be followed by a bit of spin showing how great they are. So when a press release arrived that simply states "The following statistics were released today by [insert Department here]" and then just provides a link, the bad news radar switches on.

Today's statistics are on Dental Contracts across the country. Guess what, dentists are leaving the NHS and not recommissioning their services to the health authority. As this article from Norfolk shows today, the problems most often stem from PCTs and SHA not paying dentists and their relationship with dentists generally.

Still the yanks say we have bad teeth, so we do have a stereotype to maintain right?

The problem surely stems from dentists being extraordinarily greedy, dentists getting trained for many years at public expense, dentists getting into business and building an audience at no risk as NHS contractors, dentists then constructively dismissing social patients and ultimately all patients who they deem poor profit centres.

Well done to the government for NOT paying them more than £130,000 or whatever it is they want.

Let's get enough in from EU and Commonwealth and wherever to wipe the smiles of their faces.

Before he sacked us, and even our kids, my dentist used to scale and polish to Monteverdi singing to himself with his beady eyes focussed out the window on his sports car parked where he could see it, and he used to employ 50% butchers as assistants and 50% decent dentists (who quickly ran for cover).

My dentist now is tremendous. The particular piece of nonsense the greedy one sacked me over (one of his butchers fiddled the notes) has cost me one sixth of the instant bill he proposed then - OVER THREE YEARS. Both being NHS prices.

The other guy proposing unnecessary work.

Yeah, dentists are greeding. Not zanulabour politicians, not industrialists wanting lordships and knighthoods, oh no.

No: dentists and doctors are greedy scum.

Let's steal them, cheap, from newly industrialised and 3rd world countries, they don't need their doctors, nurses and dentists.

So you had a bad dentist. Big deal. We've put up with a chanc & PM who managed to merely not drop the economy, so think they are really clever. And have also managed to get involved in a right-wing war costing REAL lives.

£130k? To run a practice? Chicken feed. Fuck your teeth. Pay for them yourself and take a tax cut.
