Lib Dem MP goes round the bend?

When it comes to written questions in Parliament you can usually tell what the motivation is behind it. If it probing about spending or the like it's obvious that the intent (and hope) is to get some juicy tidbit of information out of the Government.

The Lib Dem MP, Paul Burstow, has confused me this morning though. Yesterday he asked the Secretary of State for Transport "what representations he has received on the requirement to reverse around a corner in the Driving Standards Authority driving test".

What on earth, one might wonder is the motivation for such a question? Does he have some deep psychological issue with reversing round the corner after a bad test experience in his youth? Perhaps he's "signalling" a "manoeuvre" to join "No Turning Back"?
* Croydonian is responsible for the clever "No Turning Back" joke. The puns were mine *shrugs*
