Never let it be said that Labour doesn't recycle

Last night the Health ministers Rosie Winterton and Ivan Lewis issued a statement saying they would "reward 146 local hospices on Easter Monday with a share of £40 million of funding from the Department of Health".

Now, putting aside that if that money was shares in a roughly equal way it wouldn't even cover the running cost of a local hospice for a year, what's really interesting is that this is a recycled announcement.

Anyone briefly glancing at the statement might think this is more evidence of Government generosity and spending. However, the truth behind the statement is that the £40 million is actually part of £50 million which Rosie Winterton announced 8 months ago.
