I bet Tessa Jowell has wanted to do this more than once

You can imagine how it must feel. You're the minister responsible for broadcasting and you come up to the Dispatch Box after a few days of bad press about your colleague potentially being a bit racist on national radio and you just lose it right?

That's exactly what happened in New Zealand when the Broadcasting Minister Steve Maharey stood up to defend his threats to issue a complaint to the board of Radio New Zealand after a colleague suggested that Cambridge Exams were designed only for people in Botswana and was accused of racism as a result.

You can listen to the key part of the exchange here. What I wonder is whether Tessa Jowell would ever say the same thing to Hugo Swire? I bet she's wanted to on more than one occassion.
Note: Cheers to Ed for giving me the mp3 and Marc for hosting it.

It wasn't a colleague it was him he was defending.

He is also the Minister of Education.
