Interestingly, today he's issued another "personal statement" which says,
"on further reflection, and having had the opportunity to re-examine what Tessa Jowell said, I am now quite clear she was not commenting on the way in which police are conducting the inquiry. Also, I was not implying she or her husband were involved in any wrongdoing nor that I had evidence suggesting that was so."Sounds like someone's had a wrap on the knuckles from someone else doesn't it? Naughty Len! No easy seat for you at the next election now!

Probably just me, but doesn't this guy look like Gordon Broon's long lost brother - are they related ?
I think we should be told ??
And he won't be expecting an upgrade to his 1998 OBE any time soon...
Is he going to have a word with the other Mr Blair and remind him to stop butting into politics? And did anyone yet reveal Mr Len's party political connections and sympathies (if any)?
err he's leader of the London Labour Party, and leader of Labour on the GLA.
Given his position as Chair of the Met and in the Labour party is it fair to call him a place man?
"I was not implying she or her husband were involved in any wrongdoing nor that I had evidence suggesting that was so"
Search as I can there is no mention in Lenny's statement yesterday re Ms Jowell,Mrs Mills (?) or any evidence.
