FireFTP

The other day I was in desperate need of an FTP client and a colleague suggested to me an Add-On available for Firefox. I may be behind the times with this one, but if anyone needs an FTP client then I strongly recommend FireFTP. I know its not politics, but it's Saturday night and you shouldn't be worrying about that sort of thing anyway.

YOu know what I;m not sure if I'm breaching copyright with it or not. It's Dizzy Egg from the old Commodore games. Good to see you too.

Interesting - I've just downloaded SmartFTP

Great stuff, thanks Dizzy.

This is a lot easier to use than the one in Dreamweaver.

Whats FTP then? Do I use ot for my podcast files?

probably Jonathan. How do you upload your podcasts?

Drop them into a folder which I think is connected to a server in the US. Aren't I technically minded!!

FTP is what you use to transfer files to an internet server (File Transfer Protocol).

If you need an FTP client for Windows, I would go with SmartFTP (as Jeremy said).

alterantively you could go for platform independence with a Firefox add-on that acts exactly like Smart without the extra resources.

Yes Jonathan you probably do use an FTP client. I prefer Filezilla myself or Cyberduck when I'm on the good old Mac. I'll give that addon a go though. Thanks!

I like Filezilla on Windows, and currently use gFTP on Ubuntu.

I seem to recall trying FireFTP and having some problems, and it messed up my Firefox profile, but maybe I'll give it another go.
