Tom Watson asks a decent question?

Having just had a quick glance through tomorrow's Question Book, I spotted the following question from he of failed Brownite coup fame, Tom Watson.
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what discussions he has had with (a) the police and (b) the surveillance industry on the introduction of listening technology with CCTV systems; and if he will make a statement.
It's actually a very good question in relation to the whole encroaching state we find ourselves in today. We already have CCTV that can talk to people, and systems are now available that can listen as well, from anything up to 50 yards I believe. Scary stuff. I wonder if Watson supports the idea?

It's a pity none of the cctv cameras were around 18 Doughty street when Iain Dale had his car broken into.
