"I conducted a survey of people who attend my surgery and found that, sadly, up to 40 % of the young people who come to see me are not on the electoral register. I have been trying to sign them up, and wonder whether some guidance could be issued."Is it likely that young people that were not registered to vote would go and see their MP? Would they likely known who their MP was? What's more, "up to 40%" could actually mean 2%. Could it be the MP's suffering from blocked bowels?

I can smell something....
"How odd" I thought as I saw the following quote from Labour MP, Jim Devine.

What with writing letters, telephone and especially for young people the internet and email I'm surprised he needs to hold surgeries at all.
40% of what number though?
the lowest it could be if he was using some guesstimate maths would be 3.
That would be about right then...
