Irish e-voting systems hacked

A Dutch anti e-voting group called Wij vertrouwen stemcomputers niet (We don't trust voting computers) have appeared on Dutch TV to show how they've hacked electronic voting machines identical to those used in the Irish Republic.

Apparently the group has not only made the machine record inaccurate votes but also made it run a chess programme. This story should not surprise people. Everything can be hacked, especially if there's a good driver for doing so. An electronic voting system is begging for it.

If there's anything we should be surprised at it's that it's taken so long.
