The blogging sage Iain Dale has posted this morning about an article written by Michael Gove in The Times. In Gove's article he compares Dale to Alan Clark which Iain says is a "tremendous compliment" even though he disagrees with it.
What is interesting in Gove's article is the observation that so many blogs are literally online diaries of the minutae of people's rather boring lives. There is certainly something odd about people's desire to share their entire bloody lives with the Net. That has gone to another level with YouTube and video blogging. It always seems to be emo type teenagers too. Don't expect me to tell you much about my life - it's very boring (actually, why on earth are peolpe reading this? :-) )
What really caught my eye in Gove's piece though was a reference to the official King of Diarists, Samuel Pepys. This instantly reminded me of Pepy's Diary online, which lets you read the entry for the current calaendar day but in the 1600s. Today's entry is for Saturday 5th September 1663 (it's based on a US server time presumably). One for your bookmarks.

Spendid idea. I might link this to my blog and as you know I like to keep my blogroll to a minimum.
