Well I'm back from the weekend away. Much drinking and merriment was had by all. On Saturday morning I turned on Sky News to hear all about this raid in East London and see lots of people moaning about police "heavy handedness" and the usual stuff the follows a raid where someone got shot. Wht else could the police do. Seriously?
If they'd ignored the intelligence and a bomb went off killing people there would be outrage at their failure to do anything. As was the case with the "intelligence failures" about the 7/7 bombers who were on the radar but missed. So they act, it doesn't go quite to plan, and everyone comes out and damns them for it instead. It's absurd.

Personally i think they were right to be extra cautious and raid the house. Imagine what would have happened if a chemical attack had happened and they said "yer we had some intel on it but deicded not to raid the house as there was nothing concrete". They would be slaugtered by the press and everyone else.
There are reports that the tip came from a reliable source so they had to act.
Better safe than sorry in my view.
