** New Element Discovered **

Research has led to the discovery of the heaviest element yet known to science. The new element, "Governmentium" (Gv), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312. These 312 particles are held together by forces called "morons", which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called "peons". Since "Governmentium" has no electrons, it is inert; however, it can be detected, because it impedes every action with which it comes into contact.Too true!
A minute amount of "Governmentium" can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second, to take from four days to four years to complete. "Governmentium" has a normal half-life of 2-6 years; it does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places. In fact, "Governmentium's" mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganization will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming "isodopes". This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists to believe that "Governmentium" is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as critical morass.
When catalyzed with money, "Governmentium" becomes "Administratium", an element that radiates just as much energy as "Governmentium" since it has half as many "peons" but twice as many "morons".
On Baby P
I have very little to add to the discussion about the death of Baby P and the conviction of the childs sadist murderers other than this. I sincerely hope that "accidents" occur to them for the rest of their natural life in prison.
Death is too good for them, they deserve pain instead. They do not deserve human rights because they're not human, they're sub-human.
Update: It's been noted elsewhere by a moral relativist that I'm "only one word short of "Hanging's too good for 'em!"". Actually, hanging is too good for them. Should I hear that they've had "accidents" in prison I won't be shedding a tear. Frankly I wouldn't care.
Of course, anyone who did do something would have to face the consequence of the law as well. I still wouldn't care about the people that broke the back of a 17 month old baby. It may be a cliche but I wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire.

What is Brown flogging in the Downing Street Gift Shop?
Did you know that Downing Street has a gift shop? No, neither did I but it does. Back in October, when Gordon Brown was asked what the most popular item sold in it in the last twelve months was and what the profit was, all he woul say was,
The answer from Brown? "I have nothing further to add to the answer I gave the hon. Member for Shipley (Philip Davies) on 13 October 2008." Come on now, you must be wondering what he's trying to hide and why by refusing to answer surely?
I know that this will be seen as trivial questioning by some, but at the end of the day if we want to know what crap he is flogging to staff he really ought to tell us. Of course, it's the answer to the "why" that might be more revealing.
After all, wouldn;t it be terribly embrassing if he had to admit that none of the staff in Downing Street want to buy a Gordon Brown mug? Just imagine if that was the case? Just imagine if he'd secretly heard people saying "I wanted a Tony mug, but I'm not paying for one with him on it. Does he think we're mugs?"

How bizarre is this? Yahoo! Argentina has, in response to court order, stopped providing results for people who search for Diego Maradona.
OK, so Maradona was a cheat, but he is one of the most famous men in Argentina thanks to football and cocaine, plus he's the national team's new coach! Google have also started filtering results after receiving letters from lawyers.

There are more than 15 ethnic minority MPs
At the end of last week and over the weekend as a result of the Barack Obama victory there has been a lot of commentary about representation of different groups in Parliament. Specifically, Trevor Phillips from the Equality and Human Rights Commission, who say in a Times interview that political parties were institutionally racist and it's "no coincidence that there were only 15 ethnic-minority MPs".
Here's the thing though, as Croydonian mused, "when [were] Jewish folk airbrushed out of ethnic minority status in these parts?" A pretty good queston I thought, so I gave the Equality and Human Rights Commission a call yesterday to ask one simple question.
Are Jewish people considered an ethnic mintory in the UK in the view of the Commission? The answer was that they are both a religious group and a race and therefore the answer is yes, the Commission does indeed consider them an "ethnic minority".
So how does that ethnic minority fair in the politics of Britain? Well, we;ve had a Jewish Prime Minister; the current Foreign Secretary is Jewish, and his brother is at the Cabinet Office. not to mention a number of MPs from all sides of the House and Peers too.
So here's another question that follows on from Croydonian's musings. Is it not a little bit worrying that the top man at the Commission for Equality and Human Rights should, in an interview with a national newspaper, completely ignore an ethnic minority that his own Commission acknolwedges?
Or, is it more the case that "ethnic minority" is really just a euphemism for "non-white"? So much for equality huh?
Update: Forgot Ed Miliband had moved to be Secretary of State at the new Climate Change department. Point stands though.

Oh dear. What with it being Monday morning, and the rain, I think that one wonk at the CBI had a rotten time yesterday. Relations between the employers' organisation and the Tories have not been brilliant - David Cameron stood them up at their conference a couple of years ago, and new Labour has been good at co-opting top executives - so I doubt that the Conservatives would be pleased to learn that Adrian McMenamin, who heads the CBI's group on public services and skills, runs the website hatemytory, on which you can express, on a range of one to ten, just how much you despise any Tory politician.
“The CBI was not aware of these website activities until today,” a spokeswoman says, somewhat purse-lipped, when I inform her. “Mr McMenamin has acted in a personal capacity, which has had no connection to his activities at the CBI. We now understand that Mr McMenamin has removed these sites from the web.” As, indeed, he has.

Anonymous Labour attack blog offline
Interesting, the toryparty.net website that I posted about yesterday - which saw former Downing Street Aide, Adrian McMenamin say there was no secret and that advertising for the site had been removed because of "spammers" hacking him - has been taken down and repointed to transpero.net.Wonder what happened there then?
Who would have a poster of Stalin?
There is a timely article questioning why Stalin has been given the light touch treatment from history on the BBC which follows on from Russell Brand's resignation video where he had a picture of the dictator on his wall.
The article argues that part of the problem is thaqt Stalinw as an ally during WW2.I would argue for most students today that is nonsense. The problem is that they see something honourable in communism and thus believe the tractor statistic bullshit.
At the same time, amongst the more left-liberal classes, there is a tendency toward anti-americanism of he kind that Nick Cohen noted in What's Left?. This is essentially the dogma that "whoever is America's enemy is my friend".
Personally I think it is quite sad that a man who made Hitler look like a pussycat should be revered by (ignorant) people. The man killed in excess of 40 million of his own people for no reason other than his own mental whim. How could anyone have a poster of him on their wall?
