I have to say I went as far as to actually call it Cameron's Clause 4 on my blog yesterday.

http://baileyblogspot.blogspot.com/Richard Baileyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13849882698277474267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22202011.post-1159891539943342242006-10-03T17:05:00.000+01:002006-10-03T17:05:00.000+01:00Agree. Which is moreorless why I've ignored the story on my blog.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22202011.post-1159872980719472882006-10-03T11:56:00.000+01:002006-10-03T11:56:00.000+01:00Where Mr. Cameron and his team are going wrong is ...Where Mr. Cameron and his team are going wrong is failing to get to grips with the "vision thing", to quote George Bush Snr. It is all very well being unwilling to be pegged down on details of taxation policy 3 years probably before the next election. However, in doing so they are coming across as evasive and inconsistent- just like New Labour. To ape the present administration's fiscal policies now when the public is belatedly realising how much of taxpayers' money is wasted is folly. It should not be beyond the wit of the Shadow Chancellor to restate the Conservative Party's principles regarding the moral case for lower taxation and size and role of the state clearly and without ambiguity - provided he still believes in them, of course.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22202011.post-1159871263106058222006-10-03T11:27:00.000+01:002006-10-03T11:27:00.000+01:00Dave, we will get you signed up as a card carrying...Dave, we will get you signed up as a card carrying conservative soon....

Dizzy, I agree. Mind you I got so annoyed about it I wrote this yesterday:
http://aconservatives.blogspot.com/2006/10/will-we-cut-taxes.html

The mantra is of course economic stability before tax cuts. Would any one vote for someone who said tax cuts before economic stability? I think not.Benedict Whitehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01382732288664789210noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22202011.post-1159864792347620872006-10-03T09:39:00.000+01:002006-10-03T09:39:00.000+01:00Exactly righthttp://davehill.typepad.com/temperama...Exactly right

http://davehill.typepad.com/temperama/2006/10/via_conservativ.html

Regards from a would-be Labour voter.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
