Guido has posted about the Health Minister, Phil Hope, repaying his excessive expense claims after coming under serious pressure forom his local constituency press. Guido also ponders that

The next general election may see the biggest turfing out of incumbent MPs for generations.

This is exactly the sort of thing I was talking about last week when I pointed out that the expenses debacle will provide local newspaper with copy which could have a massive impact on the next election or even bring about by-elections.

I doubt this will be the first or the last MP that sees his constituents turn in outrage.
