Silverfish say "GordonBrownforBritain" dot com
Yesterday, Guido pointed out that the domain gordonbrown.org was pointing at Silverfish TV. Silverfish of course are only buying domains speculatively with the intention of selling (which is a breach of ICANN policy). Back when I broke the story the critics said it wasn't a website, just a domain registration, so I wonder what they will make of gordonbrownforbritain.com which was also registered, and is still registered, by Rachel Bull from Silverfish TV and suggests...well... look at it.
Still, it's only a speculative purchase of course! The .co.uk, .org and .org.uk have been purchased by Rachel too.

Conclusion? The Brownites and Silverfish are.. well... it's pretty obvious really.

Well done again - top spot
ReplyDeleteGood stuff Dizzy.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Has your Linux box crashed or summit? ;-)
Hah! No, I multiple machines at work, use the Dell laptop.
ReplyDeletethis is a magnificent scoop. Honestly one of the best scoops ever from the blogosphere. G Fawkes must be jealous!
ReplyDeleteAm I alone in thinking that surrounding yourself by children like Gordon Brown does is slightly creepy?
ReplyDeleteNice one D ,why the hell these people just can't say yes we got it for xyz , that would be the end, all they have done is make people very wary, anything they say now will be oh yeh and the rest.
ReplyDeleteNice spot tagging the actual domain name before it went live.
ReplyDeleteBit of shame that you've dropped Guido in it by evidencing that he's made a stealth edit to yesterday's story to make it appear that he was first with the correct URL - you might want to have a word with him about that...
Oh, and its a shame you didn't look a touch more closely at the registration - Silverfish do own the domain, but the hosting company did all the site development, which was nothing to do with Silverfish at all.
Don't give a shit about the hosting versus domain registration. The link is clear, the original line was bollocks.
ReplyDeleteoh yes, Gudio credited me as it happened. Try again.
ReplyDeleteSorry?
ReplyDeleteThat Silverfish grabbed a few domains prove nothing - Isotoma did the development work on the site.
The most you've got here is the possibility of someone in the Brown campaign telling Silverfish to go grab a few domains before someone else tried the same thing, which amounts to nothing.
Oh, and Guido might credit you in one post put he's still stealth edited the post from yesterday, which only makes him look rather stupid.

ReplyDeleteHahahahah.... in other words...
"You've proved nothing, except this, but that's nothing anyway even though I had to write a sentence about what it was but wasn't."
I bow before your intellectual superiority and rigour!
Regarding Guido, I don't care.
Rachel Bull aka Silverfish, also registered gordonforbritain and gordonbrown4britain at the same time.
ReplyDeleteThe previous poster is correct about Guido stealth editing his post from yesterday. But have to disagree on the second point as Rachel is still the registrant for all twelve permutations of the Domain.
Your link gordonbrown.org which you say was pointing at silverfish now goes straight through to gordonbrownforbritain. Guido's editing has muddied the waters.
Will they have the bogey man video on the site?
ReplyDeleteyep spot on regarding Rachel Bull and Silverfish still owning the domains they said they bought to sell.
ReplyDeleteAgain though in relation to Guido, he is his own person. I don't really care what he does on his blog, it's no skin off my nose.
You don't care? Sobs...
ReplyDeleteAll it says on the site is
ReplyDeletePromoted by the Gordon Brown Campaign on behalf of Gordon Brown, both at 10 Greycoat Place, London SW1P 1SB. Hosted by Isotoma Limited, Tower House, Fishergate, York, YO10 4UA
No mention of who developed it. Incidentally Isotoma's Hosting services are Located in the London Docklands not York.
What is certain though, is that Silverfish own the domains at the present time and have done since last October. Perhaps a credit to Silverfish on Gordon's sight would be a tad embarrassing.
That's why I like you Dizzy, you are always one step ahead of Labour, if not several. I bet they wish they had you on their side.
